With the world becoming more and more difficult to navigate, for our children it’s becoming apparent that we need to find safer alternative treatments to ensure that they grow up healthy and happy.

Reiki has been found to help children by using the positive healing energy to assist with your child’s physical and mental development.

The practice of Reiki is a gentle and relaxing way to-

  • Restore balance and calmness
  • Promote balance and enhance sleep
  • Help with self awareness and self esteem
  • Aid in the management of ADD, ADHD and other behavioural conditions
  • Improve concentration

Reiki is a safe and non evasive way of balancing children on a physical and emotional level as well as mentally and spiritually.

The physical benefits of Reiki for children can be when they are facing surgery and the recovery period where the positive energy can encourage the body’s own natural healing. It can also help when a child has injured themselves or when they are feeling unwell.

Mental benefits include helping with situations such as pre-exam nerves or a classroom environment. Sometimes when children change to a new school or go up a year they have trouble dealing with the additional workload and getting to know the new teachers and classmates.

On an emotional level Reiki can help to improve relationships between parents, siblings and friends. It can soften the impact of fallout from parents divorcing/separating and the possible custody disputes which children often get caught up in the middle of. The energy from Reiki can help give the child confidence in speaking out about their feelings and thoughts in these situations.

With children who have diagnosed with behavioural conditions such as ADHD and Autism the positive energy from Reiki can calm the mind by relaxing them and reducing stress which can exacerbate the symptoms. Reiki improves the quality of sleep which is quite common and it improves concentration levels. There are other conditions where having Reiki can help.

These include-

  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Conduct disorder

As there are no side effects with having a Reiki treatment it will not interfere with prescribed medication and clients are always advised to continue following their GP’s instructions

So as a summary I would definitely say that Reiki has some fantastic benefits for children no matter how old they are. From new born to those hurtling towards adulthood. If you would like more information about Reiki and how it can help your child please contact me on my website
